I’m James Witham, a Sound Recordist, Designer, Mixer and Engineer from London, England, and Rift Audio is the umbrella name for all my audio work.

I graduated from the University of Surrey in 2010 with a BEng in Audio Media Engineering; after a total of 15 years in the Broadcast Industry, the last 5 as a Dubbing Mixer for Warner Bros. Discovery, I’ve set out as a fully-remote audio freelancer.

I have worked on big titles from the Emmy Award Winning ‘Skywire Live with Nik Wallenda’ (2013) to the Sports Industry and OTT Award-Nominated ‘A Voyage of Discovery: The Ocean Race’ mini-series (2023/2024), as well as countless other programmes, promos and projects including short-film audio recording and mixing; game effects sound design; and music composition.

I am Audiokinetic Wwise101 Certified, and was the sound recordist and mixer on the winning entry of the Filming East Festival 2019 Short Film category, ‘Sandwich’.
